A few months ago, we had to disable the ability in Paragon to search by Listing Agent or Firm. We are happy to announce that this feature has been restored but without the ability to Save that Search or to Assign that Search to an existing Contact.

Why was it removed in the first place? It was removed due to an NAR mandate that wants to prevent agents from filtering out certain listings for their buyer/client based on the agent’s name or firm name.

The National Association of REALTORS (NAR) mandated that an MLS must prohibit agents from removing or blocking other listings in the MLS based on the listing firm or listing agent. In order to comply with the new rules, we asked Paragon to remove the ability to save a search that could be displayed to consumers if the listing firm and/or listing agent was part of the criteria.

We appreciate your patience as we worked with Paragon to bring back this feature!

What was the actual NAR Mandate? Policy Statement 8.5 is the where the mandate exists and can be found in their 2022 Summary of MLS changes article, https://www.nar.realtor/about-nar/policies/summary-of-2022-mls-changes.

MLS Policy Statement 8.5, Non-filtering of Listings. MLS participants and subscribers must not, and MLSs must not enable the ability to, filter out or restrict MLS listings that are searchable by and displayed to consumers based on the level of compensation offered to the cooperating broker or the name of a brokerage or agent.

Where can I find these searchable fields? In the main search page for any Property Type you would use the fields called Agent Name, Listing Office 1, or Buyer Agent. They can be found at the bottom list of the Main Criteria section.
